The City of Morganton Fireworks Show will be at 9:30 pm Thursday July 4 at Catawba Meadows Park. The fireworks show is the finale of the Red, White and Bluegrass Festival; the festival is free to the public on July 4.
"The festival is free on the Fourth of July and we want people to come out early, enjoy the music and support our vendors," said Parks and Recreation Director Gary Leonhardt. "The fireworks will start at approximately at 9:30 pm if everything goes well and we don't have any problems with the weather."
The best place to see the show will be at Catawba Meadows Park. Residents can drive in or walk in via the greenway and pick a good spot, Leonhardt said. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or a blanket so you can relax and enjoy the free music and the show.
