City requests bids for purchase of a Distributed Generation System

The City of Morganton, North Carolina will received sealed bids for the purchase Distributed Generation System at the office of Warehouse Manager/Interim Purchasing Agent until Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 9:00 am at which time bids will be publicly opened and read in the City of Morganton Council Chambers located at 305 East Union Street, Suite A100, Morganton, NC 28655.

All bids must meet or exceed specifications and requirements as set forth in a copy of the bids and specifications on file at City Hall and in the Finance Section/Open Bids of the City of Morganton's Web site, address (www.ci.morganton.nc.us).

No proposal shall be considered or accepted unless at the time of filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit in cash, cashier's check, certified check or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed in North Carolina for the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Only original copies of bid bonds will be accepted. All bid bonds and deposits being further conditioned under G.S. 143-129, as amended. Bid deposit/bond to be computed on total purchase price.

Delivery time in days after the order is placed will be considered in award of the bids.

All bids must be valid for at least ninety (90) days from the date and time of the bid opening and no proposal may be withdrawn unless bidder complies with the NC Statute G.S. 143-129 parameters.

The City of Morganton reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids or to accept the bid or part of a bid considered to be in the best interest of the City of Morganton.

Manufacturer's standard literature and specifications for the equipment bid is required to accompany each proposal.
