City accepting bids for the construction of Water Plant Improvements - Filter Media Upgrade

Sealed bids for the construction of Water Plant Improvements, Filter Media Upgrade will be received by the City of Morganton in the City Hall Council Chamber, 305 E. Union Street, Morganton, North Carolina 28655, until 2:00 PM, local time, February 16, 2012, and there at said office, at said time, publicly opened and read aloud. Bids will be received for:

Contract 10.0 – Filter Media Upgrade

Contract 10.0 includes replacement of filter media, installation of a filter air scour system, baffles and miscellaneous concrete repairs.

The Owner will conduct a Pre-Bid tour of the facilities at the Water Treatment Plant, 100 Coulter Street at 10:00 AM on January 26, 2012. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged.

The Contract Documents, consisting of the Advertisement, Information for Bidders, Bid, Agreement, General Provisions, General Specifications, Special Provisions, Materials and Performance Sections, Payment Items, and Contract Drawings may be obtained from Willis Engineers, 10700 Sikes Place, Suite 230, Charlotte, North Carolina 28277. Contract Documents may be obtained upon payment of $50 per set. Payment should be made payable to Willis
Engineers and is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be examined at the City of Morganton Water Resources Department; and in Charlotte, North Carolina at the offices of Willis Engineers.

The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
