Trash pickup delayed

Garbage collection for today  will be delayed until tomorrow in the City of Morganton. Today's route, Thursday Feb. 26, 2015, will be picked up tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 27, 2015.

State Secretary to visit Morganton, discuss Historic Tax Credits

N.C. Department of Cultural Resources Secretary Susan Kluttz will visit Morganton Wednesday March 25, 2015, as part of a Historic Tax Credit Tour. Kluttz, Morganton Mayor Mel Cohen, and other local leaders will tour local buildings that were developed using the state's Historic Tax Credit program and properties that could benefit from the program including the Broughton Hospital property.


Temporary power outage in downtown

The City of Morganton Electric Department will temporarily turn off power to a block of businesses in downtown Morganton at 3:00 pm this afternoon to repair a damaged transformer.
