On 10/04/2011 at approximately 2:50AM, Morganton Public Safety Officers responded to 1317 Carbon City Road in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, Officers found Jeremy Philbeck had been stabbed in his upper chest area by his girlfriend Tabitha Abee with a kitchen steak knife. Philbeck was transported to Grace Hospital by Burke EMS where he was treated. Abee also sustained injuries consisting of bruising to her ribs but was not transported to the hospital. It is unclear of what the couple was arguing about. Investigators were called to the scene and the incident is pending further investigation.
