W.A. Young second graders visit City Hall

Second graders from W. A. Young Elementary School visited Morganton City Hall Tuesday Oct. 28, 2014. Morganton Mayor Mel Cohen talked with the students about local government, the students toured City Hall and learned about various City departments, and the students were able to see a Public Safety patrol car and fire engine while learning about how Public Safety Officers in Morganton serve as both policemen and firemen.

Possible quorum of City Council at HRC meeting

The Morganton City Council has been invited to attend the monthly meeting of the City of Morganton's Human Relations Commission. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 5:15 p.m. in Conference Room 4 of Morganton City Hall, 305 East Union Street, A100.

It is possible a quorum of City Council may attend; however no action by Council will be taken. For more information, you may contact Sally Sandy, City Manager, at 438-5230 or Kelly Russell, Assistant City Clerk, at 438-5228.
