Youth Sports

The Morganton Parks and Recreation Department offers team sports for all ages. Youth leagues include swimming, wrestling, football, soccer and more. Adult leagues include softball, basketball, kickball and more!

Registration Update

Registration starts Feb. 13, 2012 for:

  • Little League Baseball
  • Softball
  • Lacrosse
  • Outdoor Soccer

Cost: $30.00 resident, $40.00 non- resident. Sibling and second-sport discounts are available.

 

Girls Fastpitch Softball: Ages 9-14

MIGHTY MITES (Ages 9 – 10) Players cannot turn 11 before Jan. 1, 2012.
Registered players will meet at Catawba Meadows (Field #3)
Thursday March 15, at 5:30 pm

MIDGETS (Ages 11 – 12) Players cannot turn 13 before Jan. 1, 2012.
Registered players will meet at Catawba Meadows (Field #3)
Thursday March 15, at 6:30 pm

JUNIORS (13 -14) Players cannot turn 15 before Jan. 1, 2012.
Registered players will meet at Catawba Meadows (Field #3)
Thursday April 12, at 5:30 pm

 

Lacrosse

An organizational meeting for registered lacrosse players is scheduled for 6:00 pm Monday Feb. 13 at the Collett Street Recreation Center for 4th - 6th Grades and 7th - 8th Grades.

Outdoor Soccer: Ages 5 - 13

PEE WEE(Ages 5 & 6) Players cannot turn 7 before Aug. 31, 2012.
Registered players will meet at Catawba River Soccer Complex
Saturday, March 10 at 9:30 a.m.

MITES (Ages 7 & 9) Players cannot turn 10 before Aug. 31, 2012.
Registered players will meet at Catawba River Soccer Complex
Saturday, March 10 at 10:15 a.m.

MIDGET (Ages 10 - 13) Players cannot turn 14 before Aug. 31, 2012.
Registered players will meet at Catawba River Soccer Complex
Saturday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m.

Cost: $30.00 for city residents - $40.00 for non-city residents

Tumbling

Classes are designed for girls at the beginner level. Classes start Sept. 7.

Wrestling at Patton - Ages 6 - 15

Patton Jr. Panther youth wrestling team  will meet Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Patton High School. Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m. Registration fee is $30.00. For more information contact Robert Bolick at 438-5371.

Minor & Major Players will be assigned to the teams that they played with last season. New players will be assigned to teams through the draft process.
