Who Pays for the Benefit

 

Retirement

Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System. Full retirement benefits after 30 years of service, at age 60 with 25 years of service or at 65 with 5 years of service. Reduced retirement benefit at age 50 with at least 20 years of service or at age 60 with at least 5 years of service. Additional benefits for law enforcement officers

Employee contributes 6% of annual salary and the City contributes and actuarially determined amount

 

Sick Leave

8 hours per month for regular, full-time employees. Unlimited accumulation. May be used for employee's illness, medical appointments, or for the illness of a relative as defined in policy.

Annual Leave

8 hours per month. More than 20 years = 17.17 hours per month.

Holidays

11 paid holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Pre-tax dollars can be set aside to cover uninsured health care expenses and/or dependent care

Employees contribute voluntarily. City makes 401K contribution for law enforcement officers

 

Bilingual Pay

Individuals who qualify for bilingual status are awarded additional pay for this designation.
