City to temporarily cut off power to downtown

Update - Jan. 26, 2015: Power restored at 9:57, repairs underway.

alert red 256The City of Morganton plans to temporarily shut off power to the majority of downtown Morganton at 9:45 am today. Electric Services Director Brooks Kirby said repairs need to be made to a transformer and high-voltage line at the corner of W. Concord Street and New Street.


Water quality report available

The City of Morganton 2014 Consumer Confidence Report is available online. The report summarizes the quality of the water provided by the City in 2014. It includes details about the City's water source, what the water contains, and how it compares to standards set by the State of North Carolina. The City of Morganton vigilantly monitors and safeguards its water supplies.
