City Hall closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving

Morganton City Hall will be closed this Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28 in celebration of Thanksgiving Day. The Collett Street Recreation Center, Mountain View Recreation Center, and the Aquatics Center will also be closed Thursday.

GARBAGE COLLECTION WILL BE AFFECTED. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday's routes will be collected on the regular schedule. THURSDAY'S ROUTE WILL BE PICKED UP A DAY EARLY ON WEDNESDAY.

Prepare your water pipes for winter

A cold front is moving into the area in the next few days, so there is no better time than the present to prepare your water pipes for the winter.

The City of Morganton Water Resources Department would like to remind its customers to make a thorough check of their homes to protect water lines and guard against the possible inconvenience of loss of service due to frozen lines. As always, if a customer has a water problem, he can call the City of Morganton Water Resources at 828-438-5276 and City staff will work to resolve the issue.
