All parks open from dawn to 10:00 pm
The City of Morganton Parks and Recreation Department maintains more than 400 acres of land developed for recreational use including 12 public parks.
Bethel Park 600 Block Bethel Road
Bethel Park was constructed by the City of Morganton in 1978. The park is approximately 15 acres.

Bethel Park Disc Golf Course
Ready for a game of disc golf? You can play the 9-hole course at Bethel Park and then visit Catawba Meadows Park for a challenging 18-hole course!

Catawba Meadows Park 220 Catawba Meadows Dr.
Catawba Meadows Park was constructed by the City of Morganton. The first phase opened in 2006 (Baseball Complex) and the second phase opened in 2007 (softball Complex). The 230 acre park has several more construction phases. The Catawba River Greenway borders the park.
The City recently completed Phase three of the park. Amenities

Catawba Meadows Park Disc Golf Course
Ready for a game of disc golf? Catawba Meadows Park offers a 18-hole course that weaves through the former seed orchard at Catawba Meadows. You'll also enjoy the 9-hole disc golf course at Bethel Park

Catawba River Soccer Complex Greenlee Ford Road
The Catawba River Soccer Complex was constructed by the City of Morganton in 2000 and is approximately 30 acres.

Carbon City Park 800 Block Carbon City Road
Carbon City Park was constructed by the City of Morganton and is approximately 2 acres.

Drexel Heritage Park 600 Block West Concord St.
Drexel Heritage Park was constructed by the City of Morganton in 1998 and is approximately 3 acres.

Gene Turner Park King Street
Gene Turner Park is a youth baseball complex opened in 1951 with the first season of youth baseball in Morganton. The facility was constructed and funded by the Morganton Parks and Recreation Foundation, Inc. The second field was constructed in 1981 by the City of Morganton and named in honor and memory of long time youth baseball supporter and field manager Gene Turner.

Freedom Park 400 Block Independence Blvd.
Freedom Park was constructed in 1983 by the City of Morganton adjacent to Freedom High School. The park is approximately 30 acres.

Martha's Park 200 Block Collett St.
Martha's Park was opened in 1972 as The Children's Park and funded by the City of Morganton. The Park was renovated in 2004 with funds raised by the Morganton Service League and named in honor and memory of Martha Pheifer. The park is approximately 1.4 acres.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park 620 Block Bouchelle Street
The park was constructed by the City of Morganton and is approximately one acre.

Morganton Skeet & Trap Range 400 Causby Quarry Road
The skeet range was opened in 1975 and is approximately 1.5 acres. The combination skeet and trap field was constructed in 1995.
- 3 lighted skeet fields (one is combination trap and skeet)
- Club house with kitchen, restrooms and meeting room.
- Wednesdays: 3 pm – dark
Saturdays: 10 am – 2 pm Sundays: 1 pm – dark
- Must supply your own gun
City Residents or club members: $3 a round Non-City residents: $4.00 a round, nonresident 25 skeet per round
- Ammunition: Use a field shot load, low powered with
a No. 8 or 9 shot

Shadowline Park 117 Shadowline Dr.
The 12 acre Shadowline Park was opened by the Morganton Parks and Recreation Foundation, Inc. in 1960.

Shuey Park 101 Golf Course Road
Shuey Park was constructed in 1968 with funds raised by the Morganton Parks and Recreation Foundation, Inc. and was named after Harry Shuey (owner of Morganton Furniture and President of the Recreation Foundation.) The Park is approximately 16 acres.
- 2 lighted softball/baseball fields with fence distance of 270 ft
- American Legion Baseball Field with a fence distance of 350 ft.
